Taken from the POL Developer's Room section:

The development team is currently working on the version update scheduled to take place in the last week of April. The first event for Conflict, called "Ballista" (as detailed in previous development news), is in the final stages of adjustment.

We would like to take this opportunity to inform our users that Ballista will be introduced in this update as a simple event and not as part of the Conquest.

There will be several stand-alone events held before Ballista becomes a permanent fixture, so participation will initially be limited.

We hope to continue to improve Ballista even after it has been permanently implemented, based upon the opinions of participants, the performance of the rules in actual play, and the influence of Ballista on the world of Vana'Diel.

Many other additions and changes, including the introduction of new Dynamis areas, are planned for this update.

The next version update will include the following changes:

- The first event for Conflict, "Ballista", will be implemented
- New quests and battles designed for alliances will be added.
- New quests will be available in each nation.
- Guild quests that call for the manufacture of certain items will be implemented.
- Characters will be able to participate in a strategy called "Garrison" that will be available at several outposts.

- New Dynamis field areas will become accessible.
- Several new types of battlefields ranging from low- to mid-level will be added.
- An issue concerning the accumulation of TP with weapon skills that consist of multiple strikes (i.e. Combo, Penta Thrust, etc...) will be corrected.
- A new job trait called "Subtle Blow" will become available to ninja and monks.
- An ability that allows dragoons to restore their wyvern's HP will be added. Also, if a wyvern at full hit points is sent away using the "Dismiss" command, the "Cal Wyvern" ability will be available for use immediately.

- The mysterious "Strange Apparatus" will become operational.
- A new type of flowerpot will become available.
- Players will be able to insert their names in the help text of certain items they synthesize.
- New guild-related furniture and equipment will be added.
- The number of items obtained from beastmen treasure caskets will be increased.
- New synthesis and desynthesis will become available.
- New items will be available for purchase at several of the guild shops.
- Various other new items will be added.

- A new emote for giving a triumphant yell will be added.
- A sort function will become available in the Storage menu.
- A character's footsteps will no longer be heard when using Sneak.
- The name of a pet's master will be displayed when a pet is targeted.
- The limit for the /wait macro will be extended to 60 seconds.
- An ON/OFF setting for "Battle Effects" will be added to the Config menu.
- It will be possible to place single items on auction directly from a stack of items.

Several other changes will be announced at the time of the update

I've got a suggestion for this coming LS event/set party. The eco-warrior quests. We've got a good start on a full alliance, and all members can participate. The reward is good (a larg amount of gil and an item that gives 500-1000XP when used). Just need gear for lvl 20, as that's the level cap for the quest. I'm willing to provide a WAR/MNK or WAR/NIN (as I think that'd be more useful than a THF/MNK, THF/WAR, or THF/NIN), unless I can get NIN or RNG to 20 by Sunday. Opinions about this?

FLiP [userpic]

Hello all. I think it would be a good idea to get an inventory of A) Who's in the LS and B) What they're playing. To this end I suggest going to this site: Allakhazam and make a free account. Then go to the "Your Character" choice on the menu (or the like), use the character thingy to enter in your character data, then paste the link and your race/nation/favored jobs along with that here, like so:

Tsume, Mithra, Windurst, THF/RNG/NIN

Look forward to seeing all of your LS toons!

SnoCat [userpic]

I'm not going to be around for set PT this weekend(going out of town). I invite all of you to try and do advanced job quests (I know some of you wanted Ninja and Samurai, which requires a trip to Norg. Might want to try and do that. During the next week or two, I will make the services of my lvl 17 PLD available to you all for some lower level power leveling...get in touch with me and I'll try and help you out. Have a good one.

SnoCat [userpic]

Only 3 people showed up for set party on Sunday. We're gonna try this one more time...

Sunday the 29th of February - have your character at lvl 28-30 (we're going to try and shoot for getting people to lvl 30 so they can start advanced jobs if they haven't yet, then we can work on questing for those jobs). Even those of you who have hit 30 and started advanced jobs..you are more than welcome to join the set group and help the others level up a bit. While this may not seem important now, at higher levels, having a set group can be very advantagous...especially when it comes to breaking level caps and such.

Hope to see more of you on Sunday the 29th.
